Xperia Z5 gets $60 price cut in US a week after launch

The Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact officially launched into the United States on 7 February at a price point of $599.99 and $499.99 respectively. Sony was criticised not only for the time it took to launch the unlocked handsets into the US, but also for removing the fingerprint sensor functionality.
Therefore, it is perhaps no surprise to see the price of both handsets reduced just a week after launch. The Xperia Z5 has been reduced by $60 to $539.99 on Amazon.com, whilst the Xperia Z5 Compact has dropped by $50 to $449.99. If you were considering picking up one of these models, has this price drop convinced you to press that ‘buy’ button? Or does the limitation on the fingerprint sensor still put you off? We’d love to hear your thoughts below.
