Google's latest doodle honours the 200th birthday of Charles John Huffam Dickens (7 February 1812 – 9 June 1870), one of the most well known English novelists from the Victorian period.
The doodle links to the Google books result page for Charles Dickens - his works include classics such as A Tale Of Two Cities, Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol.

Today's doodle has the various letters of the 'Google' logo appear in the cursive hand written form, set against a Victorian background, with a number of characters from his stories appearing alongside the letters. Among the characters portrayed in this doodle are Scrooge (A Christmas Carol), Bob Cratchit (A Christmas Carol), and Pip(Great Expectations).
