Vodafone Smart' 3G Android Phone Launched
Vodafone India has launched its 3G smartphone, Smart, at a price of Rs. 4995. The Vodafone Smart device runs Android 2.2.1 OS and uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon S1 processor and comes with a 2-year warranty
This smartphone features a 2.8-inch capacitive touch screen, and comes with a 2MP camera that supports video recording. In terms of connectivity, the Smart features 3G, Edge, Wi-Fi, WiFi tethering, A-GPS and Bluetooth 2.1.
The device has upto 32 GB expandable memory (via MicroSD); you will reportedly get a 2GB memory card free when buying the Smart unit. The device also features Stereo FM, MP3 and MP4/3GP playback support and has a 3.5 mm jack.
Kumar Ramanathan, Vodafone's chief marketing officer, Vodafone India was quoted in a press release as saying, "Urban Indian youth is brand conscious and has shown a great response to smartphones. Vodafone Smart is one such smartphone with its stylish looks, smart features and a host of exciting apps and 3G connectivity at an affordable price."
Vodafone subscribers can reportedly avail a special introductory limited period offer of Double Data Benefit on their 3G subscription.
