Auto brightness hack working on the Xperia ray [Video]


For some strange reason, Sony Ericsson decided not to enable automatic brightness on the Xperia ray, despite the handset having an ambient light sensor. However, the good news for Xperia ray owners is that xda-developer member arcatarc has posted a work around that involves using Root Explorer to change some values in the system files.
Obviously a rooted handset is needed to do this, but now that rooting is a simple process it shouldn’t be too difficult for most. Arcatarc’s hack does seem to work for several people and you can see a video with the automatic light sensor successfully enabled below.
